The result of over 10 years of intensive research, development and testing, the Supertech helmet family aims to create the most advanced, protective and performance-enhancing helmets possible for riders and racers around the world.Following years of extensive research, development and testing of the Supertech R10 competition helmet by the Helmet Product Development Department of Alpinestars, alongside MotoGP legend Andrea Dovizioso and MotoGP riders Jorge Martin and Jack Miller.With the S-R10, the design focus was on ensuring the highest level of performance, especially with regard to protection and a new level of safety.The S-R10 helmet has been engineered to provide the perfect combination of excellent ventilation, unsurpassed comfort, and the lightest possible weight without compromising any other aspect.Another crucial element exclusive to the design and development of the S-R10 is the helmet's advanced aerodynamics, with countless wind tunnel sessions aimed at reducing drag and providing optimal aerodynamic stability.

- TECHNICAL FEATURES AND OUTER SKULL OF THE SUPERTECH R10 HELMET
- CONSTRUCTION OF MULTICAL COMPUTER CHARACTER DISPERSA ENERGY IN IMPACTS
- Homologated according to ECE 22.06, DOT and FIM standards, the construction of the Supertech R10 housing uses a very advanced molding technology with a combination of multiple compounds that includes an external layer of 3K high-density carbon, a single directional carbon compound, a layer of aramide fiber and a fiberglass.
- The 3K high-density carbon outer layer provides excellent strength and energy dissipation efficiency over the shell.
- The unidirectional (UD) carbon composite layer provides significantly greater radial strength around the shell, preventing compression set but allowing controlled deflection to reduce transmitted impact energy.The aramid fiber and fiberglass layers provide critical penetration protection.
- This combination of composite layers, created by bonding all elements with an advanced epoxy resin already applied to the prepreg fiber, perfectly controls the ideal resin-to-fiber ratio to maximize strength, mechanical performance, and light weight.The combination of material layers provides improved energy management, as well as limited deflection of the outer layer, resulting in energy being more widely distributed and better absorbed by the EPS liner.
- The S-R10's unique shell structure provides extremely effective impact protection.With fully equipped helmet testing facilities at the company's state-of-the-art research and development center Alpinestars, The company has conducted an extensive impact research program.Our research and development efforts have demonstrated that the S-R10 delivers performance results in linear and oblique impacts that far exceed the current ECE helmet regulation limits 22.06. In the case of direct linear impacts, i.e. an impact at an angle of 90 degrees between the helmet and an object, the S-R10 exceeds the standard in an average magnitude of 37 %. And in terms of rotational acceleration and performance in oblique impacts, in which the impact energy comes from an angle other than a 90-degree linear impact or a straight-angle impact, the S-R10 exceeds the standard by 65%.
- CARCASA INTERIOR
- THE INNER SHELL OF THE S-R10 IS MADE OF EPS IN DIFFERENT DENSITIES
- The S-R10 has four internal housings as well as the external housing and is available in four anatomical sizes. The construction of the S-R10 is optimized to ensure that cyclists have the right fit, which not only improves comfort and reduces overall weight, but, more importantly, improves helmet effectiveness in case of impact. Under the outer shell of the helmet there is an EPS coating of eight pieces of multiple density, with six specific densities that are strategically located in different areas to ensure excellent energy absorption of the dissipated impact forces on the external housing, as well as a tight and comfortable fit. The EPS coating, as well as the external housing, has its own unique dimension for each helmet size, which further adapts the performance and adjustment of the helmet in terms of protection and comfort.
- MANAGEMENT OF LINEAR AND OBLIQUE FORCES
- The inner surface of the EPS is smooth, creating an optimized, low-friction area for superior oblique impact management.
- When it comes to other types of helmet testing, the best helmets are those that provide protection against rotational, as well as oblique and linear impact forces.
- To help combat and mitigate those rotational, oblique and linear impact forces, Alpinestars has designed a low-friction surface on the inner surface of the EPS liner.The inner surface is polished to be incredibly smooth and then specially coated to further reduce friction, allowing the comfort liner to move against the EPS.The result is greater rotational, oblique, and linear force management, allowing the rider's head to move independently within the helmet, or vice versa, which can significantly reduce the amount of force transmitted to the head, neck, brain, and spine from an oblique impact, while simultaneously reducing the possibility of a concussion.To summarize, targeted rotational impact protection is provided by the combination of the internal shape and specific coating of the EPS liner, along with the specially developed surface on the comfort liner.This patented technology reduces the rotational acceleration transmitted to the rider's head.

- Chin bar profile
- Another feature of protection of the design of the outer shell is the profile of the chinera, where the base area has been specifically sculpted to give a relief section. The lower profile is elevated to leave the collarbone free and, instead of the hard carbon housing gets in potential contact with the collarbone, the S-R10 has a softer EPP (expanded polypropylene) coating that extends beyond the helmet housing and is covered by a more flexible rubber compound. This Mentonera design reduces the possibility of any type of lesion in the collarbone, one of the most common injuries in motorcycling.

- To enhance the S-R10's customization and personalized fit, the exclusive and patented A-Head Fit System is included.The A-Head Fit System allows the helmet to be adjusted precisely to the rider's preferences, allowing for adjustments to both the height and angle at which the helmet sits on the head.The EPS is equipped with the A-Head Fit System, which allows for ultra-specific configuration that can be tailored to the rider's head depth in the helmet, as well as the forward or backward tilt of the helmet.
- AERODINÁMICA
- DEVELOPED WITH CFD SIMULATIONS, VALIDATED IN THE WIND TUNNEL AND ON THE TRACK, THE S-R10 HELMET IS OPTIMIZED FOR LOW-WEAR PERFORMANCE AND MAXIMUM AERODYNAMIC STABILITY.
- The S-R10 has been developed in a full-scale wind tunnel from the very beginning.Aerodynamic objectives for the drag coefficient at different head positions, as well as stability at different angles, were a primary focus in the development of the helmet shape, first developed extensively using computational fluid dynamics, then validated in a full-scale wind tunnel, and finally on the track.The result is a helmet that achieves the lowest level of drag and the highest level of aerodynamic stability at high speed compared to any other race helmet we have tested in the wind tunnel.This has already made the S-R10 the helmet of choice for official MotoGP teams for its excellent aerodynamic performance.Road riders will also benefit from this, with reduced neck strain at high speed and low wind noise levels.
- The S-R10 comes with two separate aerodynamic wings (one standard and one longer race wing) and both are equipped with a patented release system Alpinestars, with elastic joints that help the spoiler separate from the helmet shell if subjected to a significant impact, regardless of the angle, to reduce potential rotational energy.
- There are also side spoilers to further reinforce the S-R10's stability and improve aerodynamic drag.Additionally, the helmet's visor features turbulators to improve aeroacoustic performance.As a result, compared to the aerodynamic performance of the helmet equipped with the standard road spoiler, the S-R10 itself is already the highest-performing aerodynamic helmet we've tested, and with the race spoiler and aero fins combined, we achieved a further 4.54% reduction in drag.
- VENTILATION
- THE SUPERTECH R10 HELMET CONTAINS ELEVEN VENTILATION POINTS
- In terms of ventilation and breathability, there are 11 vents, not including the eye port, with 7 inlets, including 3 on the chin bar and 4 on the top of the helmet, plus 4 exhaust vents, with 2 side ports on the chin bar and 2 on the top rear of the helmet.These vents are directly integrated with the helmet shell with a series of air ducts through the inner EPS liner.With the S-R10, airflow enters through the ports, and also actively circulates over and around the rider's head through a series of channels to then be exhausted out the rear of the helmet.
- The upper vent features a large central slider that channels air toward the top of the head for greater comfort. When open, it has vents for extracting hot air from the rider's forehead.Under the rear spoiler are two extraction vents for effective hot air exit.The chin vents consist of two openings located at the front of the helmet, either side of the visor locking mechanism. Each flap has a tab at the corner, which is used to open or close the vent.Air entering from this point is channeled toward the inner side of the visor, creating a laminated airflow that effectively prevents fogging and misting.Additionally, vents in the chin bar are used to extract humid air to the outside of the helmet.
- FEATURES OF THE SHIELD
- The shield mechanism is equipped with metal locking components to prevent unwanted detachment of the shield during impacts, locked in the closed position by a front metal lock
- The visor has two unique features including a metal locking mechanism lever to prevent unwanted detachment of the shield during impacts and/or crashes, plus a lower sideline for a maximized field of vision, adding to an already outstanding wide eye port that provides 220 degrees of lateral visibility and 57 degrees of vertical visibility for excellent riding comfort.
- The shield attaches to the shell via side cam mechanisms, allowing the shield to rotate and move to fully seal against the rubber frame of the helmet window.
- In addition, the visor itself can be easily changed or removed thanks to its secure, tool-free quick-release system.
- The S-R10 is equipped with a 3mm thick Class 1 optical screen, coated with an anti-scratch and anti-fog treatment.
- The shield is fitted with internal pins to accommodate a PINLOCK 120XLT lens - 100% MAX VISION and external pins to accommodate detachments.
- REMOVABLE LINING
- THE LININGS ARE REMOVABLE AND WASHABLE, AND HAVE FABRICS WITH ANTIMICROBIAL TREATMENTS.
- Crown pad: The crown pad and neck pad are elastically connected, for better oblique impact management, with a four-panel construction (front, sides, back), for an optimized fit with the appropriate foam thickness.
- Top Pad: The top pad is removable and height adjustable via the A-Head adjustment system.
- Cheek Pads: The cheek pads are equipped with premium foam and fabrics, offering comfort and breathability.The cheek pads also feature an emergency removal system, allowing medical and support personnel on the track to easily remove the side cheek pads. They also have a channel for installing a hydration system.
- WEIGHT
- And finally, as far as weight goes, the ECE/DOT/FIM certified Supertech R10 helmet weighs an impressive 1,540 grams for a size medium, or 3.4 pounds, giving the S-R10 an extremely high performance-to-protection-to-weight ratio.
